In 2024, Ian Gabriel’s Death Of A Whistleblower premiered at TIFF and was honoured with the Best African Film Award at the 6th Joburg Film Festival. In 2023, Runs In The Family received the Best South African Film Award at the Durban International Film Festival and was an Outstanding Film Nominee for the 35th GLAAD Film Awards in Los Angeles and New York. Four Corners, South Africa’s Official Submission for Best Foreign Film at the 86th Academy Awards, went on to receive multiple Best Film awards on the international and local festival circuitsm, and in 2004 Ian’s directorial debut Forgiveness won the Best South African and Best African Film accolades in the same year.

Real-life father/son filmmaking team Ian and Gabe Gabriel unite for this witty, heartfelt dramedy that sees former scam artist Varun and his trans drag performer son River embark on a road trip across South Africa to rescue River's long-lost mother from rehab clinic.
