Imran joins  the Giant Studio roster as a fresh new voice for South African commercials. Coming from a family of writers and activists helped shaped his mindset and inclusive approach to directing. His experience in narrative drama means he has an instinctual eye for crafting beautiful imagery and drawing natural performances from actors.

Imran is a Berlinale Talents alumni and was the recipient of the Robert Bosch Stiftung award for writing. He was featured on CNN Inside Africa as one of Africa’s 'Directors To Watch' and was invited to Cannes Film Festival's Marche Du Film as part of the Talenteuse Caméras d’Afrique program.

He most recently was co-writer and producer for the SAFTA-nominated crime thriller SONS OF THE SEA, which premiered at Cinequest USA. The film has played at numerous festivals around the world and went on to win Best Feature Film at the 43rd Durban International Film Festival.
